Aero Club of Buffalo

The Aero Club of Buffalo is comprised of several hundred men and women, all of whom have an active interest in Western New York's rich and proud aviation history.  Many club members trace their involvement in aviation back to World War II . . . some of whom were the very engineers and test pilots that created the very planes that help to win the war.

Others flew combat missions in Korea, Vietnam . . . and the Gulf Wars.  Aero Club members also include airline, corporate, and military pilots, both active and retired, air traffic controllers, flight instructors, private, and student pilots.   And many members are simply "fans" of aviation.  They include the wives, sons, and daughters of aviators.  Some are aviation administrators, ground support personnel.  But whatever they are . . . they all love airplane noise!

The Aero Club of Buffalo dates back to the very earliest years of powered, heavier-than- air flight.  Some of the Aero Clubs early members and guests included Orville Wright, Glenn Curtis, and Amelia Earhart.  It is, in fact, the oldest Aero Club in America and the second oldest Aero Club in the World.

Membership in the Aero Club of Buffalo is open to anybody who has an active interest in aviation and who is committed to fostering the future of aviation locally and around the world.   We do this by hosting monthly social/educational events where many of the world's notable aviation experts share their experiences with club members.

Click HERE here if you would like to join the Aero Club of Buffalo.  The annual membership fee is still only $25.00.

Now for the photos of the August 5, 2004 B-29/B-24 Aero Club of Buffalo picnic.  Click http://aeroclub.freewebspace.com/photo.html to open the photo album.
